Why We Need to Support Women at Work

According to the Australia Government, creating safer and fairer workplaces is essential to enhancing the experiences of women in the workforce, empowering them to succeed in their chosen careers. Reducing the disparity in labor market outcomes between men and women requires a united effort from the Government, the private sector, and the broader community. Addressing both structural and cultural barriers is key to enabling women to enter, re-enter, and remain in the workforce. Fostering a culture of respect for women in workplaces and across society, eliminating harassment and violence, and promoting women’s safety and security are foundational steps toward meaningful change. By prioritizing these efforts, we can support women to thrive at work and lead empowered and fulfilling lives.
